Bidding Rules & FAQs

Understand your rights, responsibilities, and how the auction platform operates before you place your first bid. Rules apply to all participants including dealers and public bidders alike.

Bids Are Binding

All bids placed on the platform live or proxy are binding commitments to purchase at that price. Winning a lot creates a legal obligation to complete the transaction. Review vehicle details, condition reports, and announcements thoroughly before bidding.

Announcements Override Catalogue

Seller announcements posted at or before the time of sale take precedence over the vehicle catalogue listing. This can include changes to condition, title status, or sale terms. Always read announcements before bidding. Winning a lot with an active announcement may affect your arbitration rights.

Condition Reports & Arbitration

Vehicle condition grades (Green, Yellow, Red, White lights) and CarFax Reports are provided. Arbitration is available for qualifying issues within the posted arbitration window with typically 24 hours for mechanical issues and limited to undisclosed structural, title, or odometer concerns. Issues covered by announcements are generally non-arbitrable. Review the full arbitration policy before bidding.

Payment Terms

Full payment (including buyer fees) is due within the posted payment window (see terms & conditions) after the auction closes. Late payments may result in:

  • Late payment fees applied to the outstanding balance
  • Temporary or permanent suspension of bidding privileges
  • Forfeiture of any deposit held on account

See the Fees & Payment section for full details on amounts due and accepted methods.

Proxy Bidding Rules NOTE

Proxy bids are placed in your name and are subject to the same binding bid rules as live bids. Your proxy will automatically increment to beat competing bids up to your stated maximum. If your proxy limit is reached, you will not receive automatic outbid notifications unless you have alerts configured in your account.

Account Conduct

All participants are expected to maintain a positive bidding record. Repeated failure to complete purchases, manipulation of bidding through duplicate accounts, or any activity deemed to disrupt auction integrity may result in account suspension. All accounts are monitored and conduct is reviewed by the Stark Auto Sales team.
